ACH Food Companies<\/a> is a big winner with their newest packaging line installation. Not only did the company save nearly 50% off their project’s original estimate, their package redesigned graced the cover of Packaging World Magazine. The line, the newest among dozens of production lines at the Ankeny plant located outside Des Moines, has a maximum output of 150 containers\/min, “and is a very consistent line,” says engineering manager Tony Bolletta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The line’s new HDPE container from Schoeneck Containers<\/a> is a state-of-the-art replacement for the wax paper-lined paperboard box the product had been packaged in for decades. It features a cap with an induction seal for freshness and leak prevention. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Enercon\u00a0Super Seal\u2122 Max<\/a>\u00a0is used to seal the new containers. \u00a0The compact, air-cooled system features an operator interface with a two-line LCD display screen. It features a wide sealing head to accommodate 63- to 110-mm wide-mouth containers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

“We use Enercon exclusively for induction sealing at the plant,”says Bolletta. “We’ve had a good relationship with Enercon, and they’ve done a great job of supporting our units,” he continues. “This cabinet proved a perfect fit for the line, and the unit works great. This is the kind of line that is turned on and the workers don\u2019t have to worry much about,” summarizes Bolletta.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Whether it’s comprised of equipment that\u2019s new, old, or a mix of both, a line that runs well is a timeless benefit for any plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
