To create consist and repeatable induction seals, it is critical to maintain a 1/8" gap between the sealing head and cap. Enercon offers a head-to-cap gap gauge; contact us for yours, free of charge. It, along with the step-by-step instructions below, will help you achieve the perfect gap for your sealing needs.
Flat and Tunnel Sealing Head > 1.5" Wide
- Raise the sealing head several inches above the height of the containers to be sealed.
- Place several capped and filled containers on the conveyor, with the caps properly torqued, in a line such that they are centered beneath the sealing head.
- Place the gape gauge on top of the containers and lower the sealing head until it is just touching the gap gauge.
- Lock the sealing head in that position, slide the gap gauge out and remove the containers.
- You are now ready to seal.
Tunnel Sealing Head < 1.5" Wide
- Raise the sealing head several inches above the height of the containers to be sealed.
- Place the gap gauge on the conveyor such that it’s lined up with the centerline of the sealing head.
- Place several capped and filled containers, with the caps properly torqued, in a line on the gap gauge.
- Lower the sealing head until it just touches the tops of the capped containers and lock the sealing head in that position. Remove the gauge and containers.
- You are now ready to seal.
