Winner of the 2014 Enercon Bill Zito Packaging Education Scholarship Announced

MENOMONEE FALLS, WI - Enercon Industries Corporation is pleased to announce that Oliver Ballinger, Packaging Engineer Student at the University of Wisconsin-Stout has won Enercon’s 2014 Bill Zito Packaging Education Scholarship. Oliver has demonstrated tremendous commitment and academic achievement in pursuit of his packaging degree.

The Packaging Scholarship is administered by the PMMI Education & Training Foundation.

An appreciative Oliver says, “Thank you for giving me this opportunity and awarding me with the Enercon Bill Zito Packaging Scholarship. It means a lot to me and will help me continue and complete my Packaging Education at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Enercon established the Bill Zito Packaging Scholarship in 2010 when Zito was elected to the Packaging Hall of Fame. Bill was at the forefront of Enercon’s commitment to educating the industry on how induction cap sealing works and how to implement the technology to achieve perfect hermetic seals that preserve freshness, prevent leaks and provide tamper-evidence.

Today Enercon’s commitment to educating the industry through technical articles, individual training programs and cap sealing webinars. This scholarship is one way Enercon gives back to the packaging community by supporting those exemplary students preparing for a career in the packaging field.

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2016 Scholarship.

The Enercon Bill Zito scholarship will be awarded to the candidate who best meets the following criteria:

  • Third year student majoring in packaging engineering or related areas
  • Excellent academic achievement plus recommendation from faculty
  • One page essay from student describing his/her career goals, demonstrating interest in packaging industry
  • Extra-curricular involvement such as athletics etc…
  • Candidate should submit resume outlining academic and work experience along with essay
