So, you're one of the many packagers who uses their sealer for more than one product or package? You've been asking for it & we've heard you loud & clear. You want a simple way to change over the sealer.
The recipe management feature of the
Super Seal Touch makes changeover a breeze. Simply navigate through the menus, go to recipes, then select the recipe you want to use, touch use recipe and the power level is set for you!
Now all you have to do is set the appropriate sealing head gap, adjust your line speed accordingly and you're sealing!
I'd still recommend running a couple bottles through to verify the settings, but you'll find changeover is a breeze with the new Super Seal Touch!

Ever wonder what happens to a cap when you recycle it? Most often it gets thrown out. While plastic bottles are often recycled, the plastic closure has been relegated to landfill. That is until now!
Aveda has taken an innovative approach to closure recycling and setup a program called "Recycle Caps." In addition to leveraging the plastic recycled from closures to mold new ones, they also use the program to teach kids about recycling! Partnering with over 700 schools around the nation, the impact the program is making has been significant.
After hearing about the program last week, it made me think about all the closures we use in our cap seal lab. We've setup a recycling bin in our lab specifically for recycling closures that will be added to Aveda’s program. A small effort on our part to make a big impact on the environment!

What a great week in Las Vegas! PMMI pulled out another great show last week in the desert. Pack Expo Las Vegas saw great attendance - all signs point to similar levels as 2007. Let's hope this is an indication that we'll all see our business and the economy continue to pick up steam!
The show floor also showed a lot of great innovations. As I walked the show, I saw a number of new products or twists on existing products that continue the trend of leveraging technology to advance packaging equipment.
Not to toot our own horn, but we unveiled a pretty cool piece of equipment too. The all new Super Seal Touch is certain to set new standards when it comes to induction cap sealers! Thanks to customer feedback and a collaborative team we're bringing you the features you've been asking for in a new and innovative package!
I'll write more about the features in the coming weeks, but check out this video to learn more!
