All surface treatment stations require a device to monitor the speed of the web. This data is used by the power supply and/or watt density controller to ensure accurate treatment levels.
Since 1999 Enercon has manufactured its surface treaters with an encoder, rather than a magnetic "pick-up" device to monitor web speed.
The encoder delivers more accurate speed data to the power source. More accuracy translates into more reliable treatment and less scrap. This is especially true for web rolls that are "out-of-round."
