The following is a description of a chopper fault on an Enercon Compak 9000 power supply.
Symptom
The chopper fault light is illuminated when the power supply is started.
Fault
The chopper device or control circuitry has failed.
Caution
When replacing the chopper device, always change the associated gate leads. If not, the lead may be defective and cause further device failures.
