Symptom
The membrane meter display is not energized. The entire membrane is blank.
Fault
The fault could be a defective membrane switch assembly, a bad ribbon cable or connection, or a loss of power to the membrane.
Solution
- Check to ensure power is available to the power supply and the breaker is turned on. (Item 3*)
- Check the ribbon cable connections at the back of the membrane, the terminal block connections, and the connection on the control board. (Item 19*)
- Verify the colored stripe on the ribbon cable is connected to pin 1 of the plug in connection.
- Check the supply voltage to the membrane. With a DC voltmeter ensure +5 VDC is supplied to the membrane from the control board.(Item 2*) Connect the positive lead to the junction of R10 and C56. Connect the common lead to ground at TB1 pin 6.
- If the +5 VDC is present, replace the membrane and/or the ribbon cable. (Item 1* and Item 19*)
- If the +5 VDC is not present, check to verify 115 VAC is present at E1 and E2 on the control board. (Item 2*)
- If good, replace the driver control board. (Item 6*)
- If not present, check the control transformer (Item 9*) and the supply voltage to the power supply.
