Covered Roll Metal Electrode Corona Surface Treater

The Covered Roll treater system is equipped with covered ground rolls and segmented or tube stainless steel electrodes. The electrode assembly configuration and method of ozone extraction and electrode cooling assures that the inside of the station is ozone-free. This permits painted steel frame and enclosure-type construction with no risk of corrosion. The cooling system also reduces the temperature of the electrodes which, in turn, reduces the heat reflected into the web and ground roll. The highly efficient system of electrode cooling prevents any warping or distortion of the stainless steel electrode segments.

Covered Roll Standard Features

  • Web width to 177" (4500 mm).
  • Roll face width varies based on your needs.
  • Treat one or two side(s) of the web.
  • High voltage transformer mounted integral to station.
  • Hinged electrode assembly for easy cleaning.

Covered Roll Optional Features/Accessories

Covered Roll Benefits

  • The Covered Roll system lends itself to applications that require deckling of the electrode or where areas of the web, in the machine direction, need to remain untreated.
  • Enercon has adapted the cooling system, used in its patented Bare Roll system, to efficiently remove ozone and to cool the electrode. This reduces warping of the electrode and provides more consistent treatment across the web.
  • Can be oriented in any position.

Covered Roll Considerations

  • The roll covering requires repair or replacement although new ceramic coverings have greatly extended life expectancy.
  • Conductive webs cannot effectively be treated on this type of system.

Enercon power generators and stations are designed to operate in a maximum ambient temperature of 40°C (104°F) @ 80% relative humidity, non-condensing.
