Illuminated TEMP Indicator - Compak, Compak Convertible, Integral II

Symptom

The TEMP indicator is illuminated and the power supply will not start.

Fault

The heat sink cooling the IGBT devices has overheated and tripped the sensor.

Solution

1. There may be a problem with the cooling system. Check the water level and pressure. Add water if needed or check strainer if the pressure is low.
2. The ambient temperature may be in excess of 104ºF, exceeding the capacity of the cooling system to cool the power supply efficiently.
3. Inspect the wiring between the temperature sensor and Control Board. Ensure the connections are correct and tight.
4. The temperature sensor will automatically reset when the temperature drops to a safe level. If the TEMP indicator will not reset, replace temperature sensor.
5. Replace the Control Board.
