Enercon to debut new modular sealing unit for capless applications at Pack Expo International 2006
Release date: 10/1/2006
Enercon Industries has announced that they will be displaying a new modular concept for capless sealing applications at Pack Expo. Developed in conjunction with M&S Manufacturing of Burnsville Minnesota, the new system provides packagers with the flexibility of increasing output or changing over to new containers with modular sealing head components. Applying hermetic induction seals on containers without caps, or prior to capping, provides a tamper-evident, leak preventing, freshness preserving all-in-one solution. The system will be in operation in Enercon's booth #S-766.
How the system works
The indexing system features individual stations for foil cutting, foil transfer and foil sealing. Foil material is unwound from a roll and cut to shape. The cut foil is captured by the sealing head which articulates into position over the container. The sealing head lowers onto the container and applies even pressure on the foil to ensure contact across the entire land area of the container. An induction field is generated which heats the foil and melts a polymer coating which bonds to the lip of the container.
